An NIH agency IT division was looking to reduce cycle time to respond to their internal scientific needs by leveraging the cloud. The agency engaged with PiTech to create a cloud architecture and deploy a virtual private cloud (VPC) that integrates with their on-premise infrastructure. This involved ensuring the VPC supported their stringent security requirements.
PiTech created a cloud strategy and presented it to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Computer Technology Branch (CTB) team to showcase the agility that they gain from integrating cloud as part of their IT Architecture. We developed and implemented a pilot VPC architecture for an NIH agency in Amazon Web Service (AWS) and integrated scientific applications for big data infrastructure for pseudo-production purposes. We also reviewed and assessed their storage infrastructure and define target architecture visualization and storage roadmap.
